Rethinking AI in Education: College to host workshop on ethical AI integration

With artificial intelligence (AI) reshaping the educational landscape, educators are navigating a new world of possibilities and challenges. 杰克逊的大学 and the Jackson County Intermediate School District will host a daylong workshop, From 值 to Vision: Rethinking Our Approaches to AI in Education, 10月11日星期六. 从9点到12点.m. 到3点.m. in JC’s Bert Walker Hall Community Rooms.

After nearly two years since the introduction of ChatGPT and the widespread use of other AI tools like Gemini and Magic School, the education sector has entered a new era. This interactive workshop will offer educators an opportunity to explore how to integrate AI ethically and effectively into their classrooms while addressing concerns about academic honesty and evolving student needs.

Dr. 特洛伊希克斯, professor of English and education at Central Michigan University, will lead the workshop. As Chair of the Department of Teacher and Special Education and Director of the Chippewa River Writing Project, Dr. Hicks brings a wealth of experience in both AI and education. He will guide participants through a day of exploration, offering practical tools and insights to help teachers align AI with their educational values.
